Prayer Ministry
Crossroads is a praying Church! As stated in the 2nd of the 7 Core Values “…we strive to help each person develop and grow in his/her relationship with God through regular prayer….”
| We have opportunities for prayer in several ways at Crossroads. Besides prayer in the worship service, we have an email prayer chain, prayer reminders in the bulletin, prayer walking, prayer vigils and special calls to prayer. |

Every 3 months we hold a prayer vigil. It simply works like this:
-
Half-hour periods are set up. (Generally between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.)
-
Sign-up is requested so that we have people there to pray continuously during the evening
-
There is always a staff member, pastor, or prayer coordinator present to lead the prayer periods
-
We pray from the heart – quiet moments are often – as we listen to God – no one is forced to speak
-
Simple sentence prayers are common and appropriate
-
No one is embarrassed and it is strictly confidential
Several years ago our Pastor started a pastors' prayer group with other community pastors which has led to involvement of our churches together in concerts of prayer
At Crossroads we have also taken the traditional prayer into a new dimension by using the Internet. We maintain an e-mail based electronic Prayer Chain managed by the webmaster. If you would like to be come part of the email service send a request to the webmaster
This allows Crossroads to give instant attention to prayer needs. Not only is the prayer chain used in intercessory prayer, but also when a member has experienced answered prayer or when someone who just wants to praise God offers a prayer of thanks.
We have just one simple rule for the prayer chain – when you open the e-mail immediately take a moment to offer your prayer as a supporting prayer chain member. This makes sure you won’t forget
