Vision, Purpose and Core Values
Our Vision describes where we believe
God is aiming us. Our Purpose tells what we are about,
why we exist. Our Core Values are the truths that guide our church's actions
and demonstrate our priorities.
Our Vision
As we live out our purpose through prayer, loving actions and the leading of
the Spirit, Crossroads will continue to grow as an accepting, community oriented
and biblically principled church, Committed to life transformation and
glorifying our heavenly Father, because of His love for us in Christ
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to help people find new life and new beginnings
in Jesus Christ and grow toward their full
potential.
Our Core Values
| We believe... |
that God cares about people...all people... and that His
love and concern and the answers to meaning, significance and direction in
life are found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we are committed to training and inspiring every member to
be a caring, verbal witness for Jesus. |
| We believe... |
that God's first priority for us is that we love Him with
all our heart, soul, mind and strength and see the Christian lifestyle not
primarily as following rules, but centrally as a relationship motivated by
His love to us. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we strive to help each person develop and grow in his/her
love relationship with God through regular prayer (speaking to God) and
personal Bible reading (hearing God speak to us). |
| We believe... |
that God cares about the whole person, not merely some
narrowly defined area we might call "the spiritual". God wants us to grow in
both holiness and wholeness. He's concerned about our self-image and sense
of freedom, our handling of emotions and our relationships with others, our
success in handling life, and our hopes and dreams. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we strive to make plain in a variety of creative, culturally
relevant ways God's path and principles for all of life - spiritual,
emotional, psychological and social. |
| We believe... |
God values children and teens equally with adults. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we strive at all times to teach at the particular level of
understanding; respect the wisdom of youth; treat all with dignity; and
include even the youngest in the ministry and life of the church. |
| We believe... |
that marriage and family are key relationships established
by God. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we are committed to strengthening marriages and helping
parents nurture strong, secure, successful children. |
| We believe... |
that because God created the universe and everything in it,
one can understand the pieces of life and have a rational, consistent,
satisfying worldview only through an understanding of God's revelation to us
- the Bible. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we teach an intelligent Biblical message, able to stand in
the marketplace of ideas. |
| We believe... |
that growth toward full potential happens best through small
groups. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we encourage each person to be involved in a group of
his/her choice and commit ourselves to leadership training and the ongoing
formation of as many groups as necessary to meet people's growth needs. |
| We believe... |
every person is important and needed and that God has a
calling for each member of His Church and Kingdom. |
| |
|
| Therefore... |
we work in a variety of ways to help each person discover
his/her unique gift(s), calling and area of service, and we encourage each
to see him/herself as a compassionate servant of others for Jesus' sake. |
